Subject Overview

KS3 Years

The curriculum covers all strands of the Numeracy Strategy. This includes: Using and Applying Mathematics, Number and Algebra, Shape, Space and Measures and Statistics. At Waddesdon, the Numeracy Strategy is taught in Years 7 and 8 and is summatively assessed at the end of Year 9.

KS4 GCSE Years 9, 10 and 11

All students follow the Edexcel linear GCSE. Most students take GCSE Statistics; this may be in Year 10 or Year 11.

The GCSE Statistics requires a statistical enquiry to be undertaken. This comprises 25% of the total.

KS5

The Edexcel GCE A Level is followed. AS consists of two Pure Mathematical units and an application unit. Two more Pure Maths units and another application is required for A2.
