Admissions

Introduction

Waddesdon Church of England School is a heavily oversubscribed school that is currently full in every year group with all year groups now operating above their published admission levels as a result of some successful appeals. Additionally there are waiting lists in existence for every year group. These waiting lists include children who are resident in the catchment area.

If you want to apply at the year of entry (into Year 7) or into a different year group please check which academic year you are seeking admission for and follow the guidelines below. The Admission Policy is reviewed every year and from time to time there may be changes to the policy so it is important for you to read the right documentation. If you have any queries Mrs Daniell at the school will be happy to talk to you.

The procedures for entry into our sixth form are different and you should contact Mr Bushell (the Head of Sixth Form at the school) to discuss making application.

Admissions into the Academic Year 2010-2011

If you are seeking admission to the school during the Academic Year September 2010 – August 2011 you will need to telephone the school to obtain a prospectus (which includes a copy of the Admission Policy) and a supplementary information form. If you are submitting an application after 10 September 2010 you will need to be aware that you will also need to complete a Local Authority Common Application Form for every age group (except sixth form).

Admissions into the Academic Year

(September 2011 – August 2012)

If you are seeking admission to Year 7 at the school with effect from September 2011 you will need the following:

  • The Guide for Parents which includes information about the admissions policy of the Governing Body as well as the co-ordinated admission arrangements which apply to all applications for September 2011. This booklet is available to download as a PDF.
  • A copy of our supplementary information form and church affiliation form (also available to download).
  • A copy of the Bucks Local Authority Guide for Parents and Common Application Form (CAF) – these will usually be provided through your child’s primary school.

Open days and evenings for parents seeking admission to Year 7 in September 2011 are planned as follows:

Monday 20th September 2010 9.00 – 11.00 am

Monday 20th September 2010 6.00 – 8.30 pm

Tuesday 21st September 2010 6.00 – 8.30 pm

These occasions provide an opportunity to hear from the Headteacher, see the facilities at the school and talk with staff and students. There will also be an opportunity to meet with representatives of the Governing Body to find out more about the admission procedures and specifically changes in these admission arrangements for September 2011.

Admissions Beyond the End of August 2010

An increasing number of enquiries are being received from parents asking about admission to the school at a date beyond August 2012. Governors review their Admission Policy every year and undertake a statutory consultation between December and February. Details of the draft policy and consultation process for Admission in September 2012 will therefore be placed on this website in December 2010.
