Subject Overview Subject OverviewKS3 YearsThe curriculum covers all strands of the Numeracy Strategy. This includes: Using and Applying Mathematics, Number and Algebra, Shape, Space and Measures and Statistics. At Waddesdon, the Numeracy Strategy is taught in Years 7 and 8. KS4 GCSE Years 9, 10 and 11All students follow the Edexcel linear GCSE. Most students take GCSE Statistics; this may be in Year 10 or Year 11. The GCSE Statistics requires a statistical enquiry to be undertaken. This comprises 25% of the total. KS5The Edexcel GCE A Level is followed. AS consists of two Pure Mathematical units and an application unit. Two more Pure Maths units and another application is required for A2. Teaching Aims and Objectives

Peer assessment will be used in conjunction with formative and summative assessment. Homework PolicyHomework is set in line with the expectations of the school. Homework is usually set twice a week; short tasks are set to be completed for the next lesson and for extended tasks students are given up to a week.
