In under a month now, along with a small group from the Salvation Army in Kettering, I will be travelling to Zambia to spend just over two weeks at the Chikankata Mission. Whilst there, we will be lending a helping hand to the community and oversee some of the projects that run in the area; including the work at the hospital and school, the Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s project, the Water and Sanitation project and mobile clinics.
We will also be helping train young musicians at their music school and taking over a number of brass instruments to donate. To assist the good work there we would like to raise as much money as possible to leave at the complex so that a real difference can be made at Chikanakata.
Please support if you can, as every little will make such a difference. You can donate by clicking on the link below:

Alex, Max and George will be doing a sponsored cycle from Waddesdon C of E School to Portland's Lighthouse (Just south of Weymouth) on the 6th 7th and 8th of April. James and Jacob will be our support car. The route we have decided to take will be around 175miles long in total and with your help we can raise as much as possible to give to the Haiti Hospital Appeal. After hearing about the earthquake on the 12th of January we decided to do a sponsored event and try to help. After talking to my friends we decided on doing a sponsored cycle. So why to Portland? We chose to do it to Portland because it would be a tough challenge. Also Portland has a landmark, the lighthouse which people will be able to recognise once we have cycled to it and completed the fund-raiser. So please donate as much as you can, every penny that we raise will go to the charity and with your help we can help the people of Haiti.
You can Donate via our website here:

Year 9 Parents Evening has been changed to 19th January
Further information can be found by clicking here.
Exam Revision
Students taking A Level modules or re-sits should look at the subject areas on the VLE.
Students taking the Journey's End exam should look at the English Subject Area (select 'Login as a guest') for essential revision activities.
Examinations in the Week beginning 11th January
Assuming that the school is able to open next week, students
should expect to sit the external exams that are scheduled.
Some classes will be rearranged to provide extra revision
lessons. Sixth Form should note that Study Leave during the
week of 11th January is cancelled.
In the event of the school being unable to open on a day
when there is an external examination, we will follow the
guidance set down by the JCQ (Joint Council for
Qualifications)
http://www.jcq.org.uk
If the school is closed on an examination day, the exam will
be rescheduled for June 2010. If the school is open, but an
individual student is unable to get to school, then this
will be considered as a Special Consideration. |
