Strike a Pose!

There was a frenzy of excitement ‘backstage’ at Friar’s Square as students bustled each other into corsets, dresses and skirts and frantically checked ‘Hair, makeup, lights!’ The sound crew were ready, the comperes poised, and then the show began.

The students performed their carefully choreographed pieces (Arranged by Clair and Marni in Year 12). They were all wearing items of clothing that had been manufactured in their GCSE and A Level Textiles lessons.

The crowd clapped and roared with approval as each new outfit was revealed. The students were outstanding – their confidence growing with each performance. There was a huge feeling of elation, tinged with sorrow when the final show was over.

What a day to be proud of– after all, not everyone gets to design, make and model their own clothing!
