The Mathematics and ICT Departments are improving our partnership work with some of the feeder primary schools, in particular in Waddesdon, Whitchurch and Grendon Underwood. We are working together to develop material for their pupils, which will enhance the use of ICT and Mathematics as well as making the transition from primary to secondary school smoother. There will be intervisitation teachers so that we can all improve our understanding of the demands of the other Key Stages.

At secondary level, the Mathematics Departments from The John Colet School, The Grange School and Waddesdon have formed an ‘exchange group’. Members of this group are pooling ideas on ways to improve GCSE Mathematics results and the development of good practice in Maths lessons.

An exciting development in our Maths department is the entering of Year 8 students into the Junior Maths Challenges. This is a national competition run by Leeds University. The questions are designed to improve thinking skills.
