July - Jewellery Workshop
The Arts College with The Vale of Aylesbury Decorative & Fine Arts Society jointly organised and funded a two-day workshop for our own students and also primary partner participation. They were led by internationally renowned artists Anoush Waddington and Chris Bond.
June - Waddesdon CE School Art Exhibition
Every Waddesdon art student at exam level is allocated individual exhibition space for their work in school during the exhibition week. Family and friends are invited to a private view. Our primary partner schools are also invited to bring students to visit during the day, gaining a useful insight into the next stage of art education.
June - Roald Dahl Giant Puppets
For the annual Roald Dahl festival and parade in Aylesbury, the Arts College commissioned movie prop and modelmaker Paul Robbens to assist with the creation of two giant puppets for the parade.
June - Video Making
Film maker Iona Fabian worked with sixth formers from Waddesdon C of E School, Beaconsfield Upper School and Chalfonts Community College on a collaborative piece supported by Creative Partnerships (part of the Arts Council). Films were then projected in the cellars of Waddesdon Manor over the MAD 07 weekend.
June - Willow Sculpture Trail at Waddesdon Manor
Local artist Anne Ratnarajah was commissioned to produce willow installations in the grounds of the Manor and to lead workshops for our students and partnership schools, creating willow sculptures to be displayed along Lady Alice's Drive, a public woodland walk at the Manor.
May - Catwalk Fashion Show in Friars Square Shopping Centre, Aylesbury
An annual event by kind permission of the Shopping Centre management that gives textiles students the opportunity to show off their exam and course work creations to public acclaim and provides a chance for music technology students to put theory into practice.March - Art Exhibition at Friars Square Shopping Centre
Friars Square Shopping Centre, Aylesbury was the public venue for ourselves and partner schools' students to exhibit a selection of their work.
February - Little Oaks Playgroup
As part of their Arts College role, two members of staff have produced and supervised projects for these pre-schoolers, which culminate in a festival and exhibition of artworks. The projects have appropriate emphasis and outcomes supporting National Curriculum education.
Placement Digital Artist Clare McEwan
The Arts Council Artist Setting Up Scheme enabled us to invite Clare to establish a secondary studio space in the art department for a year where she could work and also be available for sixth form art students to offer advice and to lead workshops in school.
