Living Out Our Values

LGBTQ+

The Pride group aims to promote equality, education and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

The Vision

  • The most important principle is that all students feel safe and feel accepted
  • To help students deal with the fear in terms of coming out and potentially being ostracized or stigmatized for this
  • To be there to talk to about coming out/being an ally
  • Feeling that this group is a safe place
  • To provide support/acceptance for those who lack this elsewhere

Why this is needed
Waddesdon CE School is a community, and it is important that everyone feels included and accepted.

Education needs to be provided to both students and staff as there can, at times, be a lack of understanding. This is particularly important when discussing pronouns, homophobic slurs and stereotyping.

What is the Pride group doing?
The group wants to bring awareness and education through: delivering assemblies; providing education through CP lessons and form time as well as displays around the school.
