Results and Destinations

Congratulations to all our students on their successes in their A level examinations.  Every year, students leave Waddesdon to take up a range of opportunities, including places at Oxbridge, Russell Group Universities, prestigious creative and performing arts institutions and on competitive degree apprenticeships.  Whatever their destination, we wish our students every future happiness, success and fulfilment.

2021

Congratulations to the Class of 2021! We are very proud of you for all the challenges you overcame during Year 13 and we wish you every future success.

Following the cancellation of the A level examinations, students received results based on Teacher Assessed Grades. These were awarded following internal Summer Assessments and moderated in line with the Ofqual guidelines.

The overall ALPS score for the year group was a 1, or “Outstanding” and in line with previous years.

Despite the challenges resulting from the uncertainty and changes in policy by the Department for Education and Ofqual, 89% of students achieved their first-choice university places.  97% of students achieved their intended destinations, supported by our experienced and proactive Sixth Form team and our Careers Advisor.

We are grateful to the hard work of our teachers and the unwavering support of parents/carers and families.

Historically, Sixth Form students at Waddesdon make excellent progress against their starting points.  In the last three years when students sat external A level examinations from 2017 to 2019, Alps judged the progress our students make as ‘outstanding’ as shown in this Alps thermometer.  Over the last 10 years, our A level results have regularly been in the top 20%, 15%, 10% and 2% of results measured against nearly 3000 schools and colleges nationally, for the progress our students make in Sixth Form.
