'Get Connected' at Waddesdon Community Library
Once you have completed the sessions, you will become a graduate, and will have access to the Graduate Club. This is an optional drop-in group where you can continue your learning with peers in a sociable setting. The students and librarian will also be on hand to offer support where needed.
Did we mention there is tea, coffee and biscuits available at every session? And that Get Connected is completely free?!
To sign yourself or someone else up, please come to Waddesdon Community Library on a Monday evening 5.30-8pm (during term time), email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01296 651 382.
At the end of March our first group of Get Connected students graduated! We are so proud of both the students acting as mentors and the community members who attended the classes. Everyone involved has said that they have benefitted from the project, learning both computer skills and something about themselves along the way.
“It has improved my confidence and speaking skills massively…I have loved helping out in the community” Year 12 student.
“Get Connected has allowed me to take an active role within the community…(I) have loved watching my tutee learn and grow online” Year 12 student.
The ‘Get Connected’ project had been a very valuable part of my life and I am happy to share how important this project is and the value of the volunteering that I have taken part in. Year 10 student.
Community members’ comments

“I’m very impressed with the student working with older and slower people!”
You don’t even have to leave the village to spend an evening at the cinema. Once a month we run a “Secret Cinema” night where members can view new and classic films for free! (Although a small donation to keep the library flourishing is always welcome.) Previous films have included The Lady in the Van, Florence Foster Jenkins and Dad’s Army. Please see the school diary or contact the Library to see when the next Secret Cinema night is!
