Focus: Charity initiatives and environmental stewardship
Achievements and Impact:
- Raised over £1,250 for Breast Cancer Awareness through a school non-uniform day,demonstratingstudent commitment to charitable causes.
- Raised £200 for Cancer Research via a “Splash the Teacher” event atWaddfest, engaging students and staff in fundraising.
- Hosted a Staff-Student Quiz with proceeds supporting the Toilet Twinning project, combining community fun with philanthropy.
- Installed recycling bins around the school and delivered assemblies and form times focused on biodiversity and recycling education.
- Organised a visit to a local recycling plant to educate students on waste management and sustainability.
- Ran a sunflower seed growing competition linking Year 6 transition students with Year 7, promoting environmental awareness.
- Planted saplings and collected uniform donations for the second-hand uniform shop, fostering sustainability and community support.
Recent Successes (since April 2024):
- Developed a greenhouse project linked to Year 10 MUNGA, educating younger students on the importance of growing food and sustainable agriculture.
- Delivered second-hand uniform collections to support the Waddesdon School Association (WSA) shop, encouraging reuse and reducing waste.
- Raised funds atWaddfestthrough a “Splash the Teacher” stall and organised food bank and Christmas shoebox collections during Charity Week.
- Led a litter pick in partnership with Waddesdon Manor and the Waddesdon Wombles, involving Year 7 students in local environmental care.
Current Projects:
- Organising a Staff-Student Quiz to raise further funds for Toilet Twinning.
- Planning a donut sale as part of ongoing charity fundraising efforts.
